We used this hotspot every day for navigation and to look things up without having WiFi nearby. The battery lasted most of the day, but it also comes with a portable battery to keep it going. I would definitely recommend getting this for your trip.

Great and easy to use.

The pocket wifi was reliable. I was able to use it anywhere I went in Japan.

I ordered a pocket WiFi for my recent trip to Japan and couldn’t have been happier with it. The device was shipped to my hotel for my arrival and I received a tracking number and notification of the delivery via email so I knew that I was going to have it for check in. The pocket WiFi came well packaged with very easy to use instructions and worked seamlessly without any hiccups. A few things I really enjoyed:
1) the free extra battery pack. Most companies will charge you extra for a spare battery pack to charge. This was included which was great

2) the fact that I didn’t actually need to use the battery pack because the pocket WiFi battery lasts a ridiculously long time. We would typically leave our hotel at 8:30-9am and venture out for at least 8h. I never one had the pocket WiFi die. In fact the lowest it ever got in terms of battery life was 34% and that was after 9-10h. So I would have imagined it could have gone another 3.

Overall I was extremely pleased. I would rent with them again without hesitation.

Activate, use, online.

Our phones are too old for an E-sim so we went for pocket Wi-Fi instead. The price was an absolute bargain, and it was waiting for us in our hotel when we arrived in Japan. Phones connected easily and that was it, battery lasted all day, rarely had to charge during the day unless we were in poor signal areas (also rare, we went to some rural areas in Shikoku where we occasionally lost signal, but otherwise signal was spot on). Drop off at the airport is super easy, there's a post box right by the check in desks for international departures and it got back to Japan Wireless the next day! Loads of information from Japan Wireless about posting back, packaging etc, when we come back to Japan we would absolutely use again!
