My family has used Japan Wireless twice now and we have had no issues with the service. Everything worked great!! We have recommended this service to friends who have plans to visit Japan. We have had it delivered to our hotel and we have also picked it up at the airport. No problems both times. Loved it!

Japan Wireless is a pretty good pocket wifi service and overall a good choice for use in Japan especially when connecting multiple devices. For single person use, e-Sim is a better choice if you don't want to carry around a pocket wifi everywhere you go.

Pros:
1.) Good coverage through my usage when travels from Osaka to Kyoto to Hakone to Tokyo, though with dead zones deep underground and in certain parts of the city when you are in tall buildings.
2.) Easy to use though the instructions could be a bit more clear on how to connect. However once you are connected, you are good to go each and everytime you use it.

Cons:
1.) Battery life is good, but needs a separate power bank to keep it alive for all day use if you are out. From my use for 2 weeks, needs a 10,000mAH battery for approximately 12hrs of use on the go.
2.) Using Micro-USB to charge device when the current standard is USB-C so charge time is a little bit longer that expected. Best to use with external battery that is always charging it when on the go so it can be a set it and forget it kind of use.
3.) There are random times where the pocket wifi will disconnect and not sure why so you will need to turn off the pocket wifi and turn it back on to use it again.
4.) For troubleshooting, the language is only in Japanese and no way of changing it to English or alternative language. Best to have Google translate handy when that occurs.

When factoring cost and coverage overall, Japan Wireless is a good choice. There are other choices out there that is cheaper and provide relatively the same service and coverage so I would highly recommend price shopping when traveling in Japan and see what fits your budget best and go with that.

Very easy to use. We had connection everywhere. For return of device, use Red Box at Post Office or Lawson. Highly recommend Japan Wireless.

exit airport at Haneda, pickup pocket wifi, then onto train to destination.
