Renting the Japan Wireless WiFi was the best decision I have ever made. The connection was great in any part of the country. I visited mostly temples and shrines that are mostly in a mountainous area but I never had an internet disruption. I will rent it again the next time I come back to Japan. Highly recommended.

Easy and efficient service from pick-up from the post office at the airport to dropping off in a mailbox at the airport. The connection was pretty good at 4G-LTE speeds and there was decent coverage throughout the regions of Japan we were visiting.
I use Japan Wireless every time I visit Japan. Easy to order, set up and use. You do have to be on the ball remembering to return the unit at the airport mail box, but everything else is trouble-free. (Had a minor problem with the charge cable on my last one, but just used another spare cable of mine)
