We had a good experience with Japan Wireless. Picking up the device was a little confusing, but we eventually figured it out. The device was also larger than we were expecting, but it was not a big deal. The device lasted 10+ hours for us with light to moderate usage (GPS guidance and internet browsing) by one and two phones.

After seeing a YouTube video that mentioned using a pocket WiFi while traveling Japan instead of paying Verizon’s daily travel rate on all our devices we decided to try Japan wireless. Best decision of our whole trip! They delivered our device to our first hotel and we were up and running in seconds. We traveled all over Japan to many more remote areas and the pocket WiFi never failed. It came with its own power bank but we never ended up needing it as the device lasted all day. The cost was an eighth of what we’d have to pay to connect all our devices. We ran into some other tourists using eSIM but they were struggling with their carrier’s coverage to access the eSIM - never an issue with Japan wireless and being able to connect all our devices was the best. Finally, we popped it into the provided mailing envelope at the airport - effortless! Highly recommend!!!

Signal reception was good. WiFi was reliable although I needed to reset the device few times.

The whole process was very easy, from picking it up at the airport, connecting the devices the first time, to dropping the Pocket Wifi in the Japan Post box at the airport.
