Pocket wifi is a great alternative to esim.
The device from japan wireless worked great, its battery lasted for a full day when fully charged (so the extra powerbank provided was never needed) , never had a problem with its coverage and the speeds were adequate for casual usage. (social, streaming, browsing).
When service was down for about an hour we were swiftly informed by email.
Pickup and drop off was easy at the airport
All and all very satisfied with the service

I arrived to Tokyo , the sim arrived to my hotel on time.
All perfect.

This was perfect for my two-week trip. The internet only went down briefly on the first day for less than an hour—and the company contacted me right after apologizing profusely. After that, the internet never went down again. The pocket wifi was fast, reliable, and stayed charged all day. I charged it overnight for everyday use. I would definitely get it again!
