It’s excellent choice

I picked the package up at the airport and it had everything I needed to use and return the equipment.

I had some connection issues about a week in, but turning it off and on again resolved the issue.

If you do not have an iphone or a japanese android device, I feel that this is a must.

For the two weeks we were in Japan,
we were able to keep in touch with family and friends by using call and text over wifi the whole time.

I would absolutely use it again and feel that it was worth every penny.

4.5/5 I used this device with only 1 iPhone and it gave me the signal I needed. I will say I travel from Tokyo to Osaka on the Shinkansen and I did lose signal during the rural portions. Within and urban city it worked fine. The battery lasted during all our adventures and it charged fast enough for a full charge in an hour or so. The setup was easy since the screen display the network name and password. Returning was just as easy. It has to be returned in an envelop and put in the mail box. The envelope is provided when you receive the device and there’s a mailbox at Haneda Airport. Would definitely rent it again.

I had a great experience using this device. Battery lasted very long and if it ran out the battery pack was enough for the rest of the day. Never lost signal only underground but that is honestly not a deal breaker to me. Dropping it off was quick and super easy! Definitely recommend!

Free Wi-Fi is becoming more prevalent in Japan but it's still incredibly useful to have pocket Wi-Fi on hand at any time, especially if you have kids or multiple devices they need access. Cheap, easy pickup, and easy drop off at the airport.
