I rented 2 portable wifi routers for our group when in Japan. Preordering online and airport pickup were very simple. Set up was even easier than that! I love that Japan Wireless included a power bank as well, as we used our phones for navigating a lot, in Tokyo especially. Service was great everywhere (Tokyo to Osaka and the places in between). The only place we would temporarily not get great service was on some subways. However, once we stepped off the train onto the platform, service picked up within seconds. So, i would recommend taking a screen shot or not closing your app when you are on subways, if you need to check stops. This one thing wouldn't stop me from renting from Japan Wireless again though, when I return. Believe me, I'll be back. Japan is amazing!

While high-speed underground trains and thick tunnels can occasionally interfere with signals temporarily, we are glad to hear that full connectivity restored within seconds on the platforms. Your practical advice about taking screenshots beforehand is a wonderful tip for fellow travelers!

This is the second time I have used Japan Wireless. The rental process from beginning (pick up at airport) and return (drop off at any post office box) was easy. The mobile hotspot service always provided good connection. I appreciate the single pricing, My second time using the service and plan on using again. どうもありがとう!
