I bought 3 of these esims for my 3 unlocked phones. I simply used the QR Code and the Japan e-sims were added. I turned off my home e-sim and activated the Japan Wireless esim. The phone rebooted and instantly I was connected to the local Japan network. I was able to use these esims better than local wifi at the hotels and it outperformed the free wifi on the bullet trains. The only downside is that you don't get an actual phone number and need to use wifi-calling via WhatsApp or whatever relevant app you prefer. My main concern was unlimited 5G data with free Hotspot capability so my other devices could also be used online even without a Sim card.

I've used Japan Wireless for two Japan trips now and couldn't be happier. The device works without a hitch and the pickup/dropoff process couldn't be simpler. I would personally recommend Japan Wireless to other travelers.

Easy pickup at Kansai Airport and easy return in a post office box at Haneda Airport. No issues with connectivity around Hiroshima, Osaka, Kyoto, and Tokyo area.

I have been to Japan 12 times, and I will continue to use this service every time. The portable wifi works best for me and my personal use.
