Very easy to set up on a Pixel 9. Data was accessible without any noticable throttling at all times in the Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, and Sapporo regions.

Worked 80 % of the time. Good for travellers in a group.
We did have to connect to our Data Roaming service at times.
