I chose this wifi based on @thetokyochapter recommendation. It was easy to order in advance and then to collect and turn on immediately at Narita Airport before heading to our hotel in Tokyo. The wifi modem had good battery life and service everywhere across Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka. The only issue we had was that the powerbank did not work, but we ended up not needing it anyway.

We had heard that two people would not be able to share 1 device, so we reserved 2 for the 3 of us visiting Japan. The benefit of two was mostly having a backup when we forgot to charge one since one device worked fine. If we were streaming videos all day, it might be different, but looking things up and using Google maps was not a problem. Our travels took us through Osaka, Hakone, Tokyo, Kyoto and all over.

The stall at Haneda was a bit tricky to find but the service worked very well. No issues during my 10 day trip to Tokyo. Speeds were amazing and did not notice any throttling. Returning the device was also easy as the mailboxes were everywhere. Would 100% use this service again.

Japan wireless provides an excellent option to stay connected in Japan at a great price. Internet is needed for everything, from schedules to maps and metro lines, do yourself a favor and get one of these little devices, it is a life saver and will not break the bank, easy to return it too, from the airport just drop it at a mail box.

Great experience with Japan-Wireless. Pickup at Narita Airport was quick, no queue. We traveled for two weeks across Tokyo, Kamakura, Kyoto, Nara and Osaka and the connection was reliable almost everywhere, except for short drops in underground trains. Connected 3 devices between two people without issues, and the battery plus backup battery covered a full day of sightseeing. The price was fair for what we got, and the return process (postbox, instructions included) was simple. Nothing negative to report. Recommended for anyone visiting Japan.
