Rented a couple units for 12 days to split between a group of 5 adults. Pickup at Haneda was fast and easy, connection took 30 seconds, and we pretty much didn't think about them again for 12 days. Including 1 day inside during a typhoon (Hagibis) were we streamed Netflix to a few different devices; not so much as a hiccup.
Just charge it and the backup battery every night, you won't have any problems.

The unit itself is small enough to put in the pocket. The extra battery is helpful for recharging the router after 6-7 hours of usage. We went to Okinawa and reception was good and uninterrupted. This is the second time that I used Japan Wireless routers and will definitely use them again.

Worked great for three travelers. Occasionally it will lose signal inside or some random locations (ex: Osaka Castle) but we had single almost everywhere we needed it. Battery life is pretty short but the included battery pack was able to keep it charged for lost of the day.

We hired the Wi-Fi for our recent Japan trip. It was easy to book, collect & return with great follow up from Japan Wireless the whole way. The addition of the Power Bank was great and came in handy when we were out all day .

We will be using Japan Wireless again as there are no out of pocket expenses at all.

Typhoon Hagibis interrupted the our vacation and the pickup of the device at the airport however it was delivered to our next location without any issues which impressed us. Throughout our travels this was the perfect product and I would certainly get one again for my next visit. just make sure you find the post office in the check-in area at the airport before you depart.
