Did need to take the extra battery to recharge (and this was slow to charge) if we were out for the whole day (but it was handy for the phones too).

I used Japan Wireless for my month long trip through out Japan. It worked seamlessly. I had great service the whole time, the device itself was small enough to fit in my purse when I didn't use a backpack. The battery lasted all day with several devices connected to it. Overall great experience from easy pick up, setup, use and return.
