Our pocket wifi was great on our recent trip to Japan. We just threw it in our backpack and my wife and I could use wifi wherever we were. The battery lasted all day for us. We did get a free upgrade for an extra battery pack, which we used once. I actually used the battery pack for my phone once too.
We had the pocket wifi shipped to our first hotel because our flight to Narita got in too late. It was waiting there for us and only took a few minutes to unpack and hook up. To return it, we used the supplied packing envelope and dropped it off at the post office in the Narita airport.
If I travel to Japan again, I would definitely go with Japan Wireless pocket wifi!

Was heavily used for backing up photos live, Google Translate and Maps and Social Media live streaming. Worked flawlessly in all that time.

This was very helpful when I was in Japan where some of the hotel WiFi connections were not good. It was easy to find the pickup at the airport and then just dropped the envelope they provide in the mail at the airport leaving, I would recommend.
