The Japan Wireless pocket wifi was perfect for my three weeks in Japan. The first week I was hiking on the Kii Peninsula, so in remote areas. The pocket wifi worked great. The 2nd and 3rd weeks I was in Tokyo/Kyoto/Osaka with my wife and son and we all used the pocket wifi connection. I would highly recommend.

Renting this device was one of the best choices we made when visiting Japan. It was easy to pick up at Narita, we were online before we even boarded the train to leave the airport, and the device worked perfectly the entire two-week trip. The added battery pack was a great bonus, as it saved us on a few of our longer days. We were able to mail the device back after checking in for our return flight at Narita, and we received the confirmation of receipt the next day on our return home. Totally perfect. Using Japan Wireless for this was a great choice.

We pre-booked a Japan Wireless portable WiFi router with unlimited data for our family of four during our trip to Japan, and it turned out to be an excellent choice. Since we were always travelling together, sharing one device was far more convenient and cost-effective than opting for individual eSIMs.

Collection was seamless—we picked it up right after exiting the arrivals hall at Tokyo Haneda Airport. The router came neatly packed in a slim, compact pouch along with a power plug, charging cable, and even a portable power bank, making it incredibly easy to carry around throughout the day.

The connection was reliable, and managing usage was simple. We would switch off the router in our hotel rooms and connect to the hotel WiFi instead, which helped conserve battery. Charging both the router and the power bank overnight ensured we were always ready to go the next day.

The return process was just as smooth. Everything was placed back into the pre-addressed envelope provided, and we simply dropped it into a post box at Haneda Airport before heading through security.

Overall, a hassle-free, efficient, and highly practical solution for staying connected while travelling as a group in Japan. Highly recommended!
