I was little worries about the Internet accessibility and wait to buy a sim until I arrive in Japan. Hence I made the eSIM purchase before I started my travel, and wala the connection got activated automatically the moment I landed in Japan. Best coverage throughout and no downtime till I was in the country.

We use pocket WiFi unlimited for all our trips to Japan. We’ve had coverage in all areas we’ve visited. Setting the process in motion from home the unit is delivered to our hotel waiting for us. We just drop it in the mail at the airport before security.

I was on a cruise around Japan and while I was on shore, the coverage always worked. The only concern I had was that the unit's power ran down in less than a day. There was a power bank included so if I ran out of power I could plug it into the power bank. Just didn't want to carry the extra power bank around in my pocket in addition to the unit. I rented with Japan Wireless before and was satisfied with the service.
