I rented a pocket Wi-Fi for my first ever trip to Japan and it was one of the best decisions I made. It was relatively easy to pick up, right at the airport and was ready to go. It even came with a power block just in case the pocket Wi-Fi ran out of power. Returning it was also easy. Even though you can connect to a bunch of free Wi-Fi in most places, having a stable internet connection at decent speeds (even underground taking the subway) is always handy.

Japan Wireless was the best option I could have chosen to have WiFi all over in Japan, even in places I didn’t think I could reach good signal it never let me down, would contract again , thank you .

I used japan wireless both times when I visited Japan and both times the service was good. The 2nd time I had to reset the unit (instructions were provided on the info sheet they give you) but I end up emailing customer service early evening and received a response within half hour. I would definitely use japan wireless again.
