My family and I had a great experience with the wifi hotspot and back-up power source. It worked everywhere we went. I didn't notice any downtime on the shinkansen between Tokyo and Nagano and Tokyo and Kyoto. It worked on Mt. Fuji, DisneySea, Odaiba, etc. The voice translator was very helpful as well. Thanks, Japan Wireless!

Perfect experience & kept my whole family connected during our Tokyo visit. I would definitely use the Japan Wireless servíce again and recommend it to friends and family!

My first trip to Japan was a breeze because of this pocket wifi. Worked everywhere from Tokyo to Osaka and all between perfectly! Was able to do my away from home work, translate, and use directions because service was always working.

For the past 5 years or so, I've been using a competitor. On this most recent trip, I finally decided to do my due diligence and see the players in the wireless rental market. Japan Wireless consistently came out in people's recommendations for providing good service and being affordable. I broke from tradition and tried Japan Wireless.

The overall experience was what I expected from a good wireless carrier. The device was mailed to my hotel and provided all the necessary items for me to start using the internet. A nice bonus was that a battery pack was also provided for when the WiFi device ran out of the battery.

The service was good and I had no issues with speed or connecting to the internet. I should also add that Japan Wireless provides more data as compared to some competitors. I also liked that they shipped directly to the hotel. Surprisingly, this isn't a service provided by all of the competitors in the market.

Returning the device was also easy as expected. I popped the device in the provided mailer and dropped it in a mailbox at the airport.

I mentioned that the service was "as expected" a few times in this review, and as I had mentioned, it's because I've been renting WiFi devices for at least the last 5 years in Japan. "As expected" is exactly what I was looking for because I was happy with the prior service I was using. What sets Japan Wireless apart at this point is that they offer the same great service and more for a better price.

Oh and one last thing. The customer service is great. I emailed Japan Wireless for a small issue and I received a response quickly. This gives me confidence that if I have any larger issues in the future, I can count on Japan Wireless to take care of me. 5/5 stars!

I like how the wireless still gets connection even when we were up in the mountain. The powerbank helps a lot because the battery lasted only 4 - 5 hours and we were out of the house almost 8 hours a day. Definitely worth the money.
