Japan Wireless worked as promised and for eg. made using public transpotation with google maps easy. Be aware that battery runs out during a day and you need the extra battery that comes in the delivery.

I got the Premium Wi-Fi hotspot. Coupled with a Japan Rail Pass it was great! We had connectivity everywhere

Very reliable, handy, and easy to use. Very easy to rent and return (have it delivered to your hotel and drop off a mailbox to return).

Battery life is around 9-10 hours but they provide a power bank with the pocket WiFi.

Speed is not as fast as what’s advertised (187 Mbps) but tolerable for browsing, data calls, and sending messages. I would estimate the average speed to 10-15 Mbps realistically. But that’s more than enough so no big deal for me, just far from the advertised speed.

I’ve been renting from JW since 2015. I would definitely rent from JW again.

The process was very easy to use. The pocket wi-fi showed up at my hostel in Tokyo the day after I ordered it, complete with a return envelope and clear instructions. The wi-fi worked really well (I travelled all over Japan for two weeks). My one small complaint was that the device didn't hold a charge very well, so I had to constantly recharge it throughout the day. Not a huge problem, since the device came with a battery pack, but a smidge inconvenient that I had to carry the extra battery pack around with me all the time.

Everything went smoothly, from picking up the units in Osaka at our hotel to dropping them off at the airport. The units fit perfectly in the envelope and having the envelope pre-addressed made it so easy to send back.

I was a solo traveler so it met my expectations. I never had any problems with it and the battery life was great. I do recommend taking your own battery pack just incase you need an extra charge since the one they provided did not charge for long . I would definitely use their service again.

This was the perfect companion to my 3 weeks in Japan! My wife and I both used this together and never had any issues, perfect for Live streaming family and friends uploading photos and video on the go. Can't recommend Japan-wireless enough!
