With my cell provider, roaming was going to be expensive. I'd read that SIMs didn't give full coverage across Japan, and that was definitely the case with some of my friends. Pocket wifi was always working, and lasted the whole day on one charge. It was ideal for using both Google maps and translate, as well as chatting with friends to arrange meet up points.

Was was delivered to my hotel and waiting for our arrival.
Replaced our regular sims.
Did what it said it would do.

Easy pick-up at Haneda and great performance from our pocket wi-fi throughout our recent trip. Highly recommend!

So good very easy to use, was dropped to my hotel and was able to post it very easily I didn’t realise there was a post box at Osaka airport! So just a heads up for anyone else. Was user friendly and I found the battery lasted all day

It definitely is great to get an e-SIM when traveling to an international country like Japan. The e-SIM I got was the Unlimited for 16 days. Overall I felt it was great but when you are in the subways of Osaka Metro, it loses the connection. I was also capped on data for one night which made no sense because I was on the unlimited plan. The Hotspot sharing worked good on my Samsung Note 20 Ultra. The ONLY major issue I had was the instructions to set the e-SIM wasn't as cleat and easy as I thought. I had to ask a local Japanese customer service person (not affiliated) to help out and he gave clear guidance on what to do. Overall, I would get this again and recommend to family and friends.
