if you don't have an iPhone or high-end Samsung to be able to hire an esim, pocket wifi is a very practical alternative. convenient pick up at Narita airport, good coverage, 1 day autonomy and you have a battery if necessary and the return is made at the airport post box. Highly recommended. Good value for money.

I was very impressed with this compact wi- fi device. It’s an essential item to have if you plan to travel around Japan without a guide.
With access to GPS it helped me navigate the bus, subway and train systems with ease.
