Easy to acquire, install and configure, greatly helped navigating the cities w/o always looking for a Wi-Fi connection, data speeds were great.

While process was easy, pick up to return. WiFi worked great & the battery came in handy several times!

We highly recommend Japan Wireless. Picking it up at the airport and returning it is very easy and hassle-free. We were traveling in Japan for six weeks, and the router didn't let us down.

I mostly use it to access Google Maps, so I can go wherever I want without thinking about directions. I use it to call my family on whatsapp and surf the internet as well. For me, this is the best way to feel free, anywhere, anytime ! thanks a lot :)

I rented the Japan Wireless Premium Pocket Wi-Fi for 22 Days trip across Osaka, Kyoto, and Tokyo in July 2025. I chose it because I needed constant internet access for maps, translations, and uploads, and I didn’t want to rely on public Wi-Fi.

The device was super easy to set up—just turn it on and connect. It supported up to 5 devices, so my family of four able to stay connected. Speed was consistently good—video calls, Netflix, social media worked fine. Battery lasted around 9 hours, which was enough for a day out (it also comes with power bank).

Coverage was excellent in all three cities, even on the Shinkansen. The device was lightweight, comes with a rectangular pouch with chargers.

Pickup at Kansai Airport, although we had some difficult time to locate the as the instructions not that accurate and the return was just dropping it in a prepaid envelope at the airport postbox—super convenient. Price which I found reasonable for the value.

Overall, highly recommend this service for tourists who need reliable internet in Japan.

The portabe Wifi on our last trip was about AUD$110 more expensive for the same data and coverage, but what really impressed me what that I made an error in the place of collection and when I approached the booth at my arrival point, they immediately issue me a device with only and AUD$12 fee to cover the transport of the other device. Pretty happy with that!
