We ordered the Japan Wireless pocket WiFi for our trip and it was excellent! Fast connection, never dropped out, super reliable. Unlimited data. No need to look for free WiFi spots while travelling. The pocket WiFi included a portable charger. Easy pick up at Narita Airport T2 (we picked up at the QL counter) and easy drop off in the red postbox at Narita before our departure. Highly recommend. Would definitely use this service again.

Very Reliable!

It was our lifesaver in our travelling across Japan. All the time we have a great signal. Even in hoteles with WiFi we prefered using it because its speed and reliability. Thanks.

Great product

This WiFi router was the perfect tool for our trip. It worked great everywhere we went (including in Kyoto), we had zero issues with service. Also, pick up an drop off we’re both a breeze. As for the size, it’s not huge, but it’s not small either, I’ve seen smaller. The battery was pretty good, although be prepared to charge it once throughout the day, depending on your usage. Overall, I wouldn’t hesitate to get it again next time I’m in Japan.

This is the first time we used portable Wifi router, it's really useful, especially when you have many people and gadgets. It really help us to look for direction with google maps. It's a must when you travel to Japan!

Fantastic device, network and service!

At the suggestion of my son who frequently visits Japan, I rented a Premium Wi-Fi unit (the 187 Mbps model) from Japan Wireless for my recent (5/29/19) trip to Tokyo and Kyoto. Carrying it everywhere with me allowed me to easily (and cheaply) use my cell phone anywhere to research and navigate to many places (shops, restaurants, parks, shrines, etc., etc.) throughout Japan; places I would not have otherwise known about, nor been able to find. It also allowed me to use my cell phone's language translation apps which made it possible to communicate with the locals as needed. Without the Wi-Fi transmitter, I would have been clueless as to where to go, lost, and not able to "talk" to anyone.

Pick-up and return were both very easy. We picked up our Wi-Fi upon check in at the Prince Hotel Main Tower (Shingawa) and then returned it in the conveniently provided envelope (to the post box at the East Tower check in desk).

The only suggestion I have is to make sure the Wi-Fi unit is fully charged before heading out and shut it down at night so that it can re-boot fresh in the morning. Also, keep the spare battery fully charged and with you as well. You don't want to be in the middle of no where and have the Wi-Fi battery die.

I will definitely do this again.

This is the second time we're rented the Premium WIFI from Japan Wireless. We had three people using this together for work-related purposes and tourism. It always worked. Speed is true to claims. We would never have survived if we had attempted to rely on spotty free wifi throughout the trips. Battery lasts approx. 8-10 hours. Use the charger they give you. Do not let it die on you or you'll have to reboot the system again. Otherwise, everything great. Easy delivery to our hotel and drop off at Narita as we left.
