Covenient to have a pocket wifi during travel. Reliable network.

Reliable and fast in most areas and great price

Japan wireless provides excellent service.

The speed of WiFi was significant lower than what was advertised, though I have used it mainly in central Tokyo. However, the device worked all the time and definately recommended.

I rented a mobile wi-fi hotspot for my 14 day Japan trip (Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, and Hiroshima). Coverage and speeds were great, even on the shinkansen (where the onboard wi-fi can be notoriously slow). This was a better solution for me than getting a temporary SIM card for my phone, because I could easily share the hotspot with my wife. The hotspot itself was a little chunky, but fairly lightweight, and easy to carry around in my sling bag (although a little bulky if I just wanted to put the hotspot in my pocket). Battery life was good, carrying me through most of the day without having to recharge (although it's always a good idea to turn off the hotspot in an area with decent wi-fi). Email communication from Japan Wireless was prompt and clear, and pickup at the Haneda kiosk was easy. Return at Kansai Airport was fairly easy via a Japan Post mailbox, but be careful -- the first one I tried had a large sign saying it was for letters only, no packages. So I ended up going to the Lawson, which had a mailbox that accepted packages.

For the most part had no real complaints, but the charging cord provided did exhibit problems and I did need to use a different cord to allow charging for the hotspot and the battery backup.

This was so convenient to have and was easy to use, I couldn’t have got around Japan with it!!
