Pocket wifi was very handy in Japan and is a really good choice when using data across multiple devices. If you plan on using a fixed data eSIM I recommend buying more data than you think you need. The convenience of airport pickup and Japan Mail Drop off is seamless

I had a great experience. The mobile hotspot came with an external battery pack which was really helpful too.

Le pocket wifi proposé par Japan Wireless est vraiment performant. IL nous a accompagné ma famille et moi (4 personnes) dans notre itinéraire de 2 semaines au Japon, de Tokyo à Hiroshima en passant par Himeji, Ise, Kyoto ... Bonne réception partout sur le trajet. Tres bonne autonomie de la batterie. Départ tôt le matin vers 08h pour se coucher vers 23h et il restait 5 à 7% de batterie à chaque fois en l'ayant laissé charger la nuit. jamsi utilisé la batterie de secours fournie en plus.

Overall had a great experience - Easy to activate and good coverage. Not the fastest data like 5G, but for navigation and even watching videos, it is more than good enough.
