What a great idea for travelers.

I used this for my recent travels to Japan, where I stayed for 2 weeks. This was SO HELPFUL! The place we stayed had Wi-Fi, but it stopped working after a week. This was key to our being able to navigate and communicate with loved ones back home.

first modem failed, but was promptly replaced. one of the battery packs also failed to hold a charge all day, but that may be asking too much.
there should be a number to call on weekends to back up the service

Great service , coverage and convenience at national level

Once we got this working and our phones connected, it was superb. It was great being online even in the Metro. Spare battery was good. However, we needed a Japanese speaker to help get us connected, as the instructions were not clear enough and largely in Japanese on the device itself. But would rent again.

Perfect service. Fantastic with power bank

Rented one of these for 14 days while we traveled in Tokyo, Nagoya, Kyoto, Osaka and Hiroshima. It had perfect coverage in all of these places, and often was more reliable and faster than the hotel wifi where we were staying. We typically turned it on around 8am and it would run out of battery at 6pm with 4 devices connected to it all day. We found that the included battery pack did not work very well, so we used our own on the few occasions where we needed extra life out of it. Highly recommended.
