We needed the mobile hotspot because my daughter’s school iPad couldn’t connect to several hotel Wi‑Fi networks, and even Starbucks Wi‑Fi wouldn’t work reliably. It was very affordable, incredibly easy to order, and it arrived the next morning. Returning it was just as simple with the prepaid envelope, we dropped it off at Japan Post. Highly recommend it for reliable internet while traveling in Japan.

We have been renting the pocket wifi from Japan Wireless for the past 4 years. It works quite well, especially for 3 of us. One downside was battery life only for 8 hours, so needed to charge a couple of times a day. Overall good experience. Will likely rent again for the next Japan trip.

I found that I needed a more robust router when I got to Japan, but that was my fault. Everything about using Japan Wireless was realy seamless and helpful. I had some issues with a router holding a charge and got a backup device quickly and easily. The service was realy fast and the instructions were clear.

I had no issues with internet in Osaka, Kyoto and Tokyo. It connected automatically once I got to Japan. I do recommend this service.

To improve: battery dies before the day is over (for 10 hr day) and the battery pack doesn’t charge it to full.
