I cannot recommend this service enough. The pocket WiFi was so easy to find for the pick up and super easy to set up and use throughout our entire 12-day trip. We had a group of 3 traveling together and it kept all of us online with easy access to the internet, use of all our apps and use of WiFi calling. It also made it easy to conduct business calls from anywhere. You need to be disciplined about charging the unit every night. It comes with a back up power pack, but best to keep it charged at the start of the day. The return of the unit was a breeze. Japan Wireless provides you with a pre-addressed envelope that you can drop in the post box at the airport. They email you instructions a few days before it’s due back. We bought the premium insurance but I think we would have been fine with less expensive insurance. I just wasn’t sure. The experience was completely seamless and I would definitely rent this again! I highly recommend this.
We rented a Wifi box which effectively saved my partner and I $166 ($83 per person - breakdown below). Aside from very deep in the subway, we always had service and the included power bank ensured it always had power during the day.

We have 4 in our family and the pocket wifi served it purpose. Everyone was connected to it day and night. Didn’t need to worry about using hotel or others wifi. Very helpful especially when using data to find the best routes.
