Wifi worked great, only downside was having to always carry this. It was shorter than my phone and the width was similar but it was thicker than my phone making it a little awkward to carry in your pocket. Although I am pretty sure my phone was not compatible with an esim. Battery life was great just remember to change it every night.

We had a perfect experience renting portable wifi from Japan Wireless for 3 weeks. Everything was easy to get, set up, use and return. Wifi was flawless. We could not have done the trip without it!

Rented a pocket WiFi from Japan-Wireless on a recent family trip. The whole process was smooth and seemless. Made me wonder why things cannot be this easy in the US. I arranged for it to be sent to our hotel, it was waiting there in our room after we checked in. The instructions were clear and the return process was easy. An included - postage paid envelope is included in the package - you may repack everything and drop it in a post box at anytime before your trip ends - or do as we did and return it at the airport when flying out.

And of course you ask - how was the wifi? Great! Fast and reliable. They even included a very small, thin and light extra battery to get you and your family through heavy use days. I already have international wifi and cell service through my plan, but often it was throttled to just LTE on the trip. Traveling with 2 other adults - who would have had to pay $10/day each for limited international data from Verizon - it would have been $180 for the trip in total. We paid just under $68 and it was worth every penny. Opted not to use my own wifi/cellular because it was not as fast as Japan-Wireless.

I don't know how profitable they are - after all the use we made of it - it seemed very under priced for how convenient and reliable it was!

Delivery and drop off was very fast and easy even though it was last minute, and had great reception. It was nice that they also provided battery pack but unfortunately it did not last long and we were out average 12 hrs daily. Will use them again.
