I have used this device before the last time I visited Japan, this was my second time in Japan. The first time we went to Japan we didn't have any Wi-Fi on us at all time. You were mostly dependand on public Wi-Fi spots and Starbucks etc. Downloading maps of routes in advance, it took time, time out of our trip. Since then we decided on getting this Wi-Fi device, and the amount of time that saved us, it was excellent. Don't know where to go? Look it up. Don't know where you are? Look it up. Looking for a place to eat near you? Look it up. The convenience of having a connection like you have at home is something we often take for granted till it's gone. With this device you don't have to worry about that.

Highly recommend this if you are traveling through Japan for a couple of days.

The router works perfectly without interruptions independently where you are (train, mountains, metro etc). When you arrive you only have to get it at the post office, retuning at the same place or any post box.

Used 4 phones to connect and had no problems whatsoever with slowdowns. The unit gets a bit hot after hours of use but other than that, I’d still recommend Japan Wireless.

Loved that a friend recommended this during our Japan trip. Was so helpful with navigation as we toured the country and found our way back to train stations.

I used Japan wireless when we travelled to Japan last October. It's reliable, good signal everywhere we went from Tokyo to Osaka to Hiroshima and Osaka. We use it the whole day and the battery served us well and they have an extra battery pack with it. I would have given them a 5, but my only issue with them is they cut off our service on the last day of our service which was suppose to end at 11:59pm of our rental dates and our last day in Japan. I emailed them and asked why, they replied saying they will give us an answer within 48hours. But the service came back after 6hrs which gave us few more hours to use google maps on our last day. But their signal is pretty good. I will use it again in the future, hoping their blunder will not happen again.

WiFi worked great the whole times I used it.
