The receiving and returning process were easy. The Wifi is also fast everywhere, except inside Seibu dome and in some subway trains.
This is the best way to use your mobile device in Japan. Even if you already have an international plan, roaming speeds can be wonky or just flat-out non-existent. With a router from Japan Wireless, you will guarantee yourself 100% connectivity at 4G speeds anywhere in Japan. Pick up is easy, I get it delivered to the airport so I have connection immediately upon my arrival, but you can easily have it delivered to your hotel or residence in Japan. Return is just as easy, all you do is put everything back in the envelope Japan Wireless gives you and drop it in any mail box or post office. Super easy, fast, reliable and convenient! We rented one of the Wi-Fi Routers for 15 days travelling through Tokyo, Kyoto and Hiroshima. Loved having internet access everywhere we traveled! We even had coverage on most of the trains (occasionally lost signals in tunnels).
The device actually had faster internet connectivity than the hotels we stayed in so we used it instead.
It came with a cable and it's own slim external charging battery and we were able to use it for over 12 hours a day without any problems.
Highly recommend this device.
This was a great, affordable way to stay connected when I was in Japan. The WiFi got a great signal and I had a really solid connection most of the time. A couple other people in my group just used their phone provider's service and actually had a lot of issues at the front end of the trip but the pocket wifi worked really well right away. Would definitely use again!
This is my third or fourth time using the service and as always, the pickup and dropoff at the airport were seamless, the connection was fast and reliable and the service is invaluable while travelling around Japan.
