The pocket wifi we hired for our trip around Japan was excellent, providing coverage in every city and town we travelled to.
Download and upload speeds were very quick.
My only issue was that the device had to be reset on 2 occasions when the service stop functioning. The problem only seemed to occur when we went from Tokyo -> Osaka and from Osaka -> Hiroshima. Travelling from Osaka to Kumamoto and back to Tokyo over the space of 8 days didn't seem to affect it. Instructions were provided in the package sent by Japan Wireless so it only really took 5 minutes to reset each time.
Overall, an excellent product. We couldn't have travelled without it.

Fantastic reliable service

I cannot fault the service provided by Japan Wireless! The customer service team were very helpful and quickly answered all queries I had. The pick-up/drop-off arrangements were easy to understand and provided an efficient means of connecting to the internet from my first day in Japan to the last hour of my trip.

Superb service right from the moment of collection from our hotel. Our 2 week trip around Japan was made that much easier (or even possible!) It was so reliable that we never bothered with any other WiFi hotels or otherwise, rock solid and fast. Essential and thoroughly recommended.

Everything was great some time didn't have signal mostly on tokyo Disneyland in the most places was great

Ich wusste überhaupt nicht, dass es so etwas Tolles gibt, bevor ich nicht einige Reiseseiten gelesen hatte zum Thema Wi-Fi in Japan. Und Japan Wireless sollte laut einiger Berichte das zuverlässigste Netz haben. Das war auch so. Wir waren eigentlich immer online mit sehr guter Verbindung, auch sehr schnell und vor allen Dingen ohne Limitierung. Der Akku hat recht lange gehalten - etwa 8 Stunden, es liegt aber auch ein Power Bank bei.

Every one who visits Japan should really think about renting a wireless WiFi.

This mobile router made our trip infinitely more enjoyable. It allowed us to use apps on our phone to help navigate confusing streets and Slsubway lines, translate menu items when we were ordering, and even find interesting things to do and places to eat all over Japan. I can't imagine traveling in Japan again without one of these!
