I've used this pocket wi-fi from Japan Wireless 2 years in a row and have reserved it again for my upcoming trip to Japan. It's super convenient and fast speed. Last year, I had to have it closer to my phone to stay connected but this seems to have improved and as long as it's within my person somewhere. It also comes with a backup portable battery, which I have yet to use but is still convenient. They are able to deliver to your hotel and then, upon leaving Japan, you are able to simply drop it in the postal box before you enter the departure area. Reasonable prices and just super easy and convenient. Highly recommend Japan Wireless for your wi-fi needs.

Love my premium wi-fi portable router during our 2 week trip to Japan. Easy pickup at the post office at Narita airport immiediately upon landing and easy return at the airport in a post drop box before checking in for my flight home. The battery was great! I never even had to use the backup battery that was supplied by Japan Wireless. Also, the device is very slim, easy to throw in your pocket or the wife's purse! Great service from Tokyo to Kanazawa and south to Osaka. I will definitely use their service during my next trip to Japan!

This was a very convenient device to have along while traveling throughout Japan. Having it waiting for me at the hotel when I arrived, and the ease of returning it at the end of the rental period were much appreciated. The speed was more than adequate--I never found myself waiting for data to be delivered, and while I didn't stream videos or anything, I never came close to hitting the data limits.

If I had to post a gripe, I'd say the battery life of the device itself is a bit on the short side; it didn't seem like it would last much more than 8 hours unless you're turning it off regularly to conserve charge. However, Japan Wireless includes a spare battery to recharge the device, and it worked great, so I never ran out of power.

The unit was great. Lasted all day without any issue, internet worked perfectly everywhere. Highly recommend.

We traveled all over Tokyo for two weeks. The Pocket WiFi worked well, all day, every day. We had backup batteries and rarely had to use them, the unit seems to be fairly power efficient. We lived on Google during our entire trip and the data rates were great. There were a couple of places where the cell usage was very dense, like inside Big Sight during the Con and it was tough to get out. In all fairness, everyone inside was having trouble getting out, too.
