Was only planning to rent this until I got settled in Japan but it’s been wildly useful for situations where my regular Japanese phone was slow or didn’t work at all. Happily made an extension and recommend this for anyone travelling widely in Japan, especially to certain remote areas

Coming to Japan was pretty stressful from the start but I was able to have my pocket wifi shipped straight to my hotel - so convenient! I had originally got it for 3 months and I assumed that wifi would be set up in my apartment by then but that wasn't the case - a few days before I needed to send my pocket wifi I received an email asking it I wanted to extend it - Managed to extend it for the rest of the duration of my time in Japan. It was so easy and way less hassel than having to deal with wifi contracts for apartments. Is occasionally patchy when roving but I was living and travelling through very remote parts of Japan when thise happened - was the only thing I deducted a point for but otherwise it's a full 5 stars!

This product is very easy to use and has been very reliable! Download speeds are great. I am able to stream movies and do video calls seamlessly. However, upload speeds are considerably slower. Any time I have had to screen share or stream something via my laptop, the connection is often too weak or unstable to do so. Otherwise, this is product fantastic! I would highly recommend this product!

Renting a premium WIFI is the way to go for the unlimited internet access while traveling in Japan. I have rented this product through Japan Wireless five or six times in the past. They provide the most reasonable price and the best customer service.

Japan Wireless completely saved our June 2019 trip to Tokyo. I forgot to order a WIFI prior to our trip, but I was able to order one online and it was delivered to our hotel that day. I am forever grateful. The WIFI worked well, except it seemed to get "hot." Other than that, I would definitely order WIFI units again from Japan Wireless.
