We rented one unit per person out of fear of draining the wireless unit battery too quickly. Since only one person was using each unit, none of us ever needed to use the battery back up. Other families who had multiple people sharing one device often needed the battery back up. Return was easy at Narita airport. One recommendation is that an email to the customer to acknowledge proper return of the units would be appreciated.

We travelled on the Tohoku/Hokkaido route and never had any issues with the wifi service. Battery life was fine for all day use. No problems with speed and response time on the internet.

Excellent easy to use and return

We were hesitant about whether we needed wifi or not because we knew carrying it around would be added weight and our packs were already pretty heavy. When we got there though, the few times we said we'd leave it behind because "we're just getting dinner" left us with basically nothing working because our phones' included international wifi was too slow to function. This was definitely necessary and kept us on a secure network for the whole trip without worrying about finding and connecting to various free wifi sources. I ended up telling our travel agent to always recommend getting a wifi solution for Japan because you need to stay connected to get around nowadays. This was connected almost all the time (it dropped maybe 2x) and we never had to charge it midday if we plugged it in overnight.

Everything was easily done, battery easily lasted all day. Perfect for getting around and feeling like you're in your country.

when there is more than one person, pocket WIFI is the best bet. Japan wireless was a very convenient and affordable service.

I have used their pocket wi-fi on repeat trips to Japan and it has always been quite reliable for my needs with multiple devices. I had no issues on pick up or drop off (Actually easier this time around) either and consider them to be an essential step when I plan a trip to Japan. Thanks again.

The process was easy and simple. The pocket wireless device was shipped to my hotel where I picked it up. We used it throughout our trip, for the phones, iPads, on trains, when looking at maps for directions, it was the perfect way to stay connected. At the end of the trip I put it in the enclosed return envelope and dropped it in a mailbox. I am already recommending this to other friends traveling to Japan.
