Once you take the time to read and input APN information from the manual, then restart your phone, it ends up working like a charm.
Perfect solution for me as I have a phone which does not support eSIM.

It was sent to my hotel, great arrangement. Good price compared to other companies! The wifi drops now and then but overall I was very happy.

This is the 3rd time I use the Japan Wireless Pocket WiFi. From pick up from the airport or delivery to my hotel, connection to several devices ( in my case 3), to returning at the airport, it was so straight forward.
The ability to use it literally ANYWHERE is a significant plus. In a couple of hotels, I had to use the modem instead of the hotel WiFi because of the speed and quality.
The long life battery doesn't disappoint either. Never had to use the back up power pack.
This time, I had to do an urgent business quotation 10 minutes before arriving at the airport coming back home and sending it was a breeze. Once back home, I had the replies I needed.

I have used this company and its pocket Wi-Fi devices 5 times now, every time the device works immediately, and is small enough to fit in my tiny Dior bag plus its battery works all day and evening!
This time we were on a cruise and it even worked when we were on the ship! Such a good company and product, highly recommended.

This is a great option for data. A few little issues.
#1 - the charger supplied was INSANELY slow to charge the Hotspot. It would take 12+ hrs. I just used my personal phone charger block and it was fast.

#2 - Data was slow (about 4-8 lbs. Reached out to customer service and they sent me instructions to check the power saving mode. Once switched off the data was satisfactory. Still a tiny bit slower when trying to use Google maps in the downtown areas with big buildings.

Otherwise I would recommend it. Service was excellent and super easy in every was. Price was very economical.

Worked perfectly. Easy airport pick up and return through the mail. Much better option than a $10/day cellular travel pass.

From pickup at Narita airport to drop off in the mailbox, everything was seamless. We had good reliable Wifi where-ever we travelled in and around Osaka, Kyoto and Tokyo. Without connection to Google Map, we would not be able to experience Japan on our own. Thanks for allowing us to have a wonderful worry free time!

Love how easy it was to obtain the wifi and it was small and compact so it was easy to carry around. Was able to watch videos with it and saved me an my friends from getting lost in the city. The only downside to this was the battery. It drained pretty quickly and the portable battery did not charge it fast enough, the battery kept dying. So we ended up using our own fast-charging portable chargers instead the whole time.
