This was my constant companion in my vest pocket for a full month in Japan. Invaluable for navigating streets without a compass, following maps, researching restaurants, using translation apps, communicating with home via WhatsApp....Friends who used their American mobile provider’s monthly plans soon ran out of data and experienced high charges to maintain connectivity. Our phones aren’t unlocked so we couldn’t use a local sim card. We would use Japan wireless again. Recommend that you carry the tip sheet because there are SO many features on this unit that you won’t use and can be confusing if you tap them accidentally......

We got this for a 14 day trip all over Japan. This literally saved our lives - we would have been 100% lost without it. Definitely needed to use the back up charger once a day, but it survived constant use from 5 AM to 10PM every day while we were out and about. I highly recommend getting this - super easy pick up and drop off and super easy to use.

This device was great! Allowed me to stay connected no matter where I went. Only trouble was the battery life.

I spent 7 days in Japan and the wifi worked perfectly everywhere! Great speed and the battery lasted the whole day in constant use. Totally recommend and will buy again next time I go to Japan.

We have been travelling through Japan for 2 weeks and used the wireless connection for navigation and information. It worked almost always, even on top of mount Fuji! The external battery is a must if you use the appliance heavily, but this was no problem for us. Great tool which I can advice everyone. Service was great, the wireless device was delivered at our hotel so when we checked in we could use it right away. When we left Japan, we dropped it in the mail! Easy peacy Japanesy! Personal WiFi is the best way to travel, period. You and your travel companions can stay connected EVERYWHERE in Japan with You own personal device. Tokyo to the slopes of Echigo, on the train on in the line at the shrine! This is the only way to travel!
