Surprisingly easy: had it delivered at our hotel in Tokyo and pretty much only needed to check-in. Just as easily dropped it off in one of the many mailboxes in Osaka.
WhatsApp, Google Maps, TripAdvisor, public transport applications, Facetime, Messenger on the go for a good 12 hours straight.
Would recommend it to everyone visiting Japan.
Ps: definitely check out the okonimiyaki in Osaka. Yum, delish!

For a 1 week stay across Tokyo and Kyoto we rented 2 of these devices for a family of 4. It worked without a glitch. The speed was good. The coverage across Tokyo, Kyoto and during travel was never an issue. The speed of picking it up and dropping it off at the Narita Airport post office was easy.
The whole experience for my family (incl 2 teenage boys) was very good.

All went smooth, the wifi was working perfectly with fast stable connection all over Japan, used by 3-4 people at the time. Well worth it!

We were travelling through Japan for about 11 days. The pocket wifi router was indispensable during our journey. Arriving at the hotel we were handed out the pouch by the reception. Very easy in using, we were connected within minutes. 2 devices for 11days, unlimited usage - unlimited means really unlimited, there’s no speed reducing or any daily limit. I highly recommend this for every Japan Visitor!

I was pleased to find that our WiFi unit was at our hotel when we arrived. It was easy to get going and performed well through a long day. The included powerpack was used late in the day when the battery was flat.

Honestly, I was unsure about this but it worked flawlessly. We made a last minute decision to get this and I have no regrets. It worked way faster than my internet at home and saved us money vs buying an international plan. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Japan!
