I had great internet connection throughout Japan and even close offshore with the pocket wifi rental from Japan Wireless. It also saved me $10 a day by not having to use my US carrier's service while in Japan.
Simple process , order and set the pick up point at the airport where I arrived. And I can drop it at post office/ post box anywhere before leaving Japan. The internet connections is very good. It’s always ON never get disconnected.
It was waiting at my hotel upon my check in. Everything worked well. It was very convenient to return in a provided postage paid envelope when I was done.

The portable wifi is like a mobile hotspot. Worked great but there were some areas where the service was spotty and internet slow. Especially in Tokyo Disney. Took out .5 stars because towards the end of our 2 week trip, the battery inflated causing the mobile unit to open a little. The wifi still worked but made me nervous the battery would inflate more or leak. Would be helpful to receive instructions on how to swap out the device if this were to happen. Overall, would rent from this brand again.
I have ordered a pocket wifi and the delivery was very fast, directly to my hôtel ! Serious service ! Travelling Japan during 20 days , the pocket wifi is top 👍
The battery life lasted all day. We never even needed the provided extra battery. My husband and I both had excellent connectivity with the device in my purse everywhere we went.
My wife and I planned to use our normal roaming service on our mobiles for our 3 week trip from the UK but changed to a pocket router advised by our travel agent. The JL unit proved very reliable and invaluable for our trip being able to connect multiple devices. The collection and return service was easy to use.
Due to a mix up, I needed a quick replacement wifi on tour in Japan for 1 month. Excellent price, next day delivery and efficient router meant it was an easy product to use. Highly recommended.
The whole process went smoothly. The pocket wifi was reserved before I left for Japan. Upon arriving I picked it up. Easy to use. Nice to have wifi all of the time.
