Everything went smooth. My Japan SIM card was waiting for me at the hotel when I checked in. Took a few minutes to install the SIM card and follow setup instructions (that were very simple)….and I was connected!
I had internet without any slow downs or any issues of any kind for my 3.5 week trip to Japan. Super easy way to stay connected. Will use again next trip in Japan.

Japan Wireless is a really good provider for mobile Wi-Fi.
Before I placed my order I already had some questions and they answered them fast and friendly.
I started my three weeks trip in Fukuoka, Kyūshū and ordered the pocket Wi-Fi to Beppu another place in Kyūshū.
When we arrived at our accommodation in Beppu at around 13 or 14 o’clock the pocket Wi-Fi wasn’t there yet.
So I wrote to the Japan Wireless customer service and they informed me immediately (like maybe two minutes later) that the post service in Beppu had some problems but that the pocket Wi-Fi schould arrive within the next twenty minutes and gave me the tracking number.
But I didn’t need it because the pocket Wi-Fi arrived in that exact moment.
So I dare say the customer service of Japan Wireless is really excellent.

Normally the pocket-Wi-Fi schould arrive at your accommodation or chosen post office one day in advance.
But as we already knew before because Japan Wireless informs about it in their terms of contract this doesn’t count for Kyūshū. There the pocket Wi-Fi might just arrive on the same day as you do. As it was for us.
So when you order your pocket Wi-Fi to a place in Kyūshū you have to take that in account. Then you’ll be happy.

My sister (with whom I was travelling) and I already had different pocket Wi-Fis which where provided by our accommodations during past trips through Japan, so when we first started the pocket Wi-Fi from Japan Wireless we had the impression that it was really slow compared to the pocket WiFis we used before.
But after some time in use it worked well.
So don’t get afraid when your pocket Wi-Fi isn’t as fast as you thought it would be in the beginning.
Our pocket Wi-Fi was fast enough to stream films from Netflix.
We also could work via a stable VPN-connection and that even on the Shinkansen. My sister really appreciated that.
The pocket WiFi was easy to return at Haneda Airport.
All in all the service from Japan Wireless was really could. We definitely will use pocket Wi-Fi on upcoming trips to Japan, too.

Japan Wireless ist ein guter Anbieter für Pocket WiFi.
Vor meiner Bestellung hatte ich bereits einige Fragen, die mir Japsn Wireless schnell und in freundlichem Ton beantwortet hat.
Meine Japanreise begann in Kyūshū.
Das pocket wifi ließ ich nach Beppu, in unsere Unterkunft dort schicken.
Als wir ankamen war das Pocket wifi noch nicht da, was uns etwas enttäuschte, da wir viel darüber gelesen hatten, dass das Pocket wifi schon oft vorher in den Unterkünften war.
Wir hatten allerdings auch schon damit gerechnet, dass wir möglicherweise etwas auf unser Pocket wifi würden warten müssen, da Japan Wireless in seines Vertragsbedingungen darüber informiert, dass der Versand nach Kyūshū länger dauern kann.
Wir haben Japan Wireless gleichwohl sofort geschrieben und sie haben uns umgehend geantwortet und darüber informiert, dass das Pocket wifi innerhalb der nächsten 20 Minuten ankommen sollte und eine Nummer zur Sendungsverfolgung geschickt.
Kaum hatte ich die Antwort gelesen kam auch schon der Postbote mit dem Pocket wifi.
Das Pocket wifi kam uns in den ersten Minuten vielleicht einer Stunde im Vergleich mit anderen Pocket WiFis, die wir bereits genutzt haben, sehr langsam vor. Aber die Verbindung wurde schneller. Wir haben das Pocket wifi im Verlauf unserer Reise immer mal wieder komplett ausgeschaltet und hatten nach dem Wiederanschalten imner nach kurzer Zeit eine gute und schnelle Internetverbindung.
Wir könnten über die Verbindung problemlos Netflixsendungen verfolgen und im Zug stabil über eine VPN-Verbindung arbeiten.
Der Kundenservice und das Pocket-Wifi waren insgesamt sehr gut.

This was the BEST decision is made for my 10 day trip to Japan. The signal strength was strong no matter where I went (Koyasan, Hiroshima, Kinosaki, and of course Tokyo and Kyoto). Pick up at the airport was super easy. You will not go wrong by renting from them!!

Pickup was easy, drop-off was easy, the wifi worked perfectly and extra battery was super useful to charge our phones!

Pocket was great from Japan wireless. It helped us navigate around Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto.

We only needed wifi to contact our family and we posted a small daily blog to them. This was great for that. Only thing was the battery didn’t last the full 10 hours but the battery pack provided worked perfectly to charge while we were still on the move.

Easy to order. Received exactly as promised. Japan Wireless mobile wifi was essential to making our travel stress free.

Very reliable service. It made our holiday stress free. We got do everything we had planned and the WiFi made things so easy. We will definitely use it again
