Everything worked out fine as described. Very good coverage even in the countryside of Japan. We had 2 units for 3 people and never had a slowdown anywhere and 100%.
Return in Narita was easy.
The only thing being a small challenge was to find the pick up point in Kansai airport but friendly Airport information was there to help, so absolutely no problem.

I've used this service several times over the past couple of years.

The signal is always strong and you can get it anywhere in Tokyo including the underground.

You may need to reset the router now and again but otherwise it works excellently.

The router has a tendency to heat up throughout the day so be mindful if you are planning to put it in your pocket.

You are also provided with a spare battery pack which has come in helpful several times.

I cannot remember the first time I started using Japan Wireless but I would say maybe a total of 10 times. - renting one or more units once or twice a year. The units are reliable, last the full day or longer (needing an occasional power cycle to reset) and have kept me connected wherever I go. I have noticed other players in the wireless market but prefer to stick with my years-long tried and true JW.
