I could use it throughout the entire country (even Okinawa). It always worked and there was only one time where the Wi-Fi didn't connect, but that was fixed after turning it on and off again

Small and storable device. A slight disadvantage is occasional overheating. When I have it in the pocket in summer days it is unconfortable. However I am still very satisfied.

I was in Tokyo for over a week from the US. I could have used my cellular international plan but limited my data and speed on top of costing twice as much as renting the pocket wifi. The speed was phenomenal. Using Google maps live and Google lens was life changing compared to my prior visit without cellphone data. I plan on using them again when I return to Japan. I highly recommend them.

This device is essential as maps and translators are often needed. This was the second time I used Japan Wireless.
Four stars instead of five because the connection was sometimes slow/very slow, especially when two smartphones were in use. In the former experience (2019) I did not notice this issue.
