In getting ready for my Japan trip, I was leery of Esims and other means of WiFi on the go. My Japanese friend recommended this to me and it was so great to be able to have accessible WiFi throughout our trip. We’d be out and about for probably 10 hours each day and it usually held its charge wonderfully. (I think there was only like one time is lost battery near the end of a day). Also it was very easy to set up, and to return at the end of our trip.

Very handy for a family of 4 with devices, worked well in rural areas too. Would use again.

Heard about pocket wi-fi on a sub-Reddit for Travel Tips for Japan. I would have had no idea this handy little device was needed. Wi-fi can be very spotty across Japan but with your tiny pocket wi-fi, you can easily have your own personal wi-fi. We rented two units, one for my husband and I, one for our daughter and her friend. We were not going to be together at all times so this was a good solution. I believe up to five people can use each unit but double check their site.

It worked great throughout Japan during our 3-week trip—great coverage everywhere, the battery lasts all day, and it even comes with a power bank so you can charge it on the go. The price for 3 weeks is definitely worth it.

This was such a simple thing to book from home. I really appreciated the directions and even photos of where the pick-up location was at Narita, so straightforward after a long flight! The kit worked instantly. The range was impressive, too (for up to 10 devices). The router worked effectively throughout our month-long trip and the kit was easily popped into the return envelope and dropped into a post-box ahead of check-in. It came with a battery pack for peace of mind, which served my exhausted phone as well. Nothing but praise for this service and will be a return customer at some point. Acknowledgement of its safe arrival back at Japan Wireless was instant and efficient. Highly recommended.
