This was beyond helpful during my trip to Japan. I'm from the US and I was traveling solo for the first time. I had not planned very well for my trip and so this pocket wifi made it super easy for me to get around. My impromptu trip was stress-free/hassle-free because of this pocket wifi.

I flew into NRT and the morning I flew out, I reserved this pocket wifi from Japan Wireless. I was super nervous that I wouldn't get it due to the short notice but based on my experience, if you contact the company they'll expedite the device to the airport. But I highly recommend reserving the device 2 days in advance just in case. You have to pick up the device at the post office inside of the airport (it's a stand on the 3rd/4th floor). Japan wireless mails the device to the post office addressed to you. If you reserve 24 hours before your arrival, Japan wireless will have to expedite shipping. When your trip is over, you just have to drop off the device at the post office inside the airport (there's also a drop off post near the security gate). Japan wireless will provide the mailing/packaging material.

The pocket wifi came with an external battery (in case the battery dies), a charging cable, and a small bag to hold everything. The battery lasted for hours, I never had to use the external battery for the pocket wifi (I did use it for my phone). I would be out from 7am-10pm and would still have 30% battery life left. You can connect up to 6 people (?) on the device and the internet is fast. I used the wifi to connect my laptop and my two phones. The device is also very small, about the size of my palm so it wasn't bulky to carry around.

Price was also very reasonable. Compared to roaming/service fees, this was a cheaper option and a better deal. I had unlimited wifi which is really all that I needed.

I'll definitely use this company and device again for future visits.

Helped me stay connected 95% of my travel in Japan with the exception of remote areas in Hokkaido. Battery lasted for a good 8-10 hours. Easy delivery to my hotel and prepaid package drop off at any post office box. Also very easy to use, just turn on and punch in the password.

Couldn’t fault the service. Excellent speeds, battery. Very easy to collect and send back. Easy setup. Essential but of kit for traveling in japan. Great service
