I'm so glad I hired a portable wifi device whilst in Japan as I used it all the time and it was really helpful in terms of using maps, finding trains and helping with understanding the language. The Premium wifi device was very reliable and had very few dropout issues, only when on a train in a tunnel as an example.
As an aside, the rates offered by Japan Wireless were very reasonable and it was far cheaper for me to hire this device than it was to use the international roaming rates offered by Australian mobile phone companies.
I would highly recommend this device to anyone considering it and also highly recommend Japan Wireless as their service and prices are excellent.

Having great access to wifi while away was great...

It was just what we needed ,there was 4 of us traveling through japan.We were all connected no problems.We used it for google maps,looking up restaurants ,Facebook .Once in awhile it would disconnect but only for a couple of minutes at the most.the price was great for 4 of us using it.I had it delivered to my hotel and dropped it in the mailbox at the airports,no problems.Wouid definitely use it again.Thanks Japan wireless for making our vacation so much easier.

I used the pocket wifi for my 5day stay in Tokyo. Excellent service and the power bank was useful for my devices. The pocket wifi was ok for a full day without recharge. Connected seamlessly to our 6 devices.

Seriously, I wish these Pocket Wifis were more common in other countries because it was the most convenient way of staying online I've ever experienced! Delivery to the hotel was just as expected, and it's incredibly easy to start using the device. The speeds were great and the best part is that we could just throw it in a backpack and everyone in the group would have wifi the entire day. We definitely recommend Japan Wireless to anyone thinking about getting a pocket wifi

The pocket wifi came in really handy for navigating my way around Tokyo and Kyoto. I was able to use Google Maps with internet since Japanese laws don't allow you to download offline maps. Wifi was still going strong even up high when I went to Mt. Fuji!

This pocket WiFi is no doubt the best one out there. After charging throughout the night, it lasted all day and was extremely convenient. It had service 95% of the time and would be faster than the WiFi provided in hotels, Airbnb’s, or any public WiFi. Picking up and returning was extremely simple. Will use again when I go to Japan. 10/10
