Great wifi device, small enough to fit in my small bag. The battery lasted all day, and I just charged it at night while I slept. The only time I had spotty service was on top of a mountain, but there were still spots that had enough signal to video call! It worked everywhere else I went, including Okinawa. It's super easy to pop everything in the envelope and pop it in the mailbox to return. I would definitely order one of these for every trip!

Worked effortlessly everywhere

I recently used a Japan wireless dongle during my travels, and while it offered convenience and reliable connectivity for multiple devices, there were a few downsides that impacted the overall experience.

One of the standout features of the dongle was its ability to connect multiple devices at once. This made it easy to stay connected with my phone, tablet, and laptop without needing separate data connections. Additionally, the reception was generally solid, even when traveling across most parts of Japan. Whether I was in major cities or more remote areas, I experienced a reliable signal throughout the trip.

The service was excellent, and the dongle was delivered directly to my hotel, ready for pickup upon my arrival. This added a layer of convenience, making the whole process hassle-free. Returning the device was also simple—there was a supplied return envelope, and I could easily drop it in a post box, ensuring the return was quick and stress-free.

However, there were some drawbacks. While the connection was mostly stable, there were occasional disconnections that required restarting the unit to re-establish the connection. This could be a bit inconvenient during use. The biggest downside, though, was the short battery life. The unit lasted only 2-3 hours before needing to be recharged. As a result, I found myself relying on the portable charger (which was supplied) to keep the dongle powered, which detracted from its overall portability.

Overall, while the Japan wireless dongle was convenient and functional, with excellent service and an easy return process, its battery life and occasional connectivity issues make it less ideal for long stretches of use away from a charging source. Still, it’s a solid option for short-term, multi-device connectivity needs while traveling.

The pick up at the airport was without any problems. However, the router was locked with a security code and I had to call the customer service to get it to work. Friendly and very efficient customer service. The router worked without any problems for the 3 weeks of travel. The return took place at the airport with the envelope that was provided with the router. I suggest making it possible to call customer service via Whatsapp, using the public wi-fi at the airport, instead of being forced to use your own sim. This is the only reason why I gave 4 stars instead of 5.
