The Premium Wifi was very reliable throughout Japan and we Traveled around quite a bit. However the battery goes down quickly so make sure you have 1-2 battery back ups just in case.

I’ve been using Japan Wireless pocket WiFi for 3–4 years during my twice-annual visits to Japan, and it has been a reliable companion throughout my trips. I really appreciate the convenience of having the device delivered directly to my destination upon arrival and the hassle-free return process—just drop it in a mailbox. The connection is consistently reliable, even in rural areas.

Recently, I’ve noticed a significant improvement in battery life compared to previous years, which is a fantastic development.

However, the rental price has increased substantially compared to three years ago. I hope they consider making it more affordable in the future to maintain its appeal.

I’m very glad I ordered this wifi box for my 3 week stay in Japan. It provided me essentially unlimited access to wifi on the go and the speed was always good. Compared to my friends who got e-sims, I didn’t have to worry about running out of data like they did, or losing signal like they did. I would say the wifi box provided a more stable and convenient experience compared to e-sims. The battery life on the WiFi box is pretty decent too, about 6-8 hours of heavy usage before you have to charge, but they provide a good portable battery so that’s nice!
