WiFi works!

This pocket Wifi was very useful for navigating Japan! The charge lasted most of the day, and the service could be spotty, but overall, a very good experience.

I’m fully satisfied with my 10 day rental. I’ve been able to the pocket WiFi everywhere I went. It’s good that a portable battery is provided because at the end of the afternoon the device was always out of power.

Couldn't have travelled around Japan without this essential device! Without access to GPS you're lost and the ability to search for restaurants, reviews, timetables etc while on the go ... up a mountain or on the train was invaluable. Pick up and return of the device at airport was straightforward . Wireless strength and battery life was excellent; unlimited data - never had a single problem in 3 weeks. And the service from Japan Wireless and value for money second to none. Have no negative comments!

With Pocket Wifi, I was able to have speedy wifi for my entire Japan trip, which included a two-day jaunt out to the countryside. Easy to pick up and easy to set up. Though I took my own extra battery because I found the one with it wasn't enough for me to be out for long days. So I left the provided extra battery pack back at my ryokan. (Still nice to have as an option though!) Remember to mail back your pocket wifi BEFORE you go through security at the airport. (My mistake!) Overall, I'd rent this from Japan Wireless again, on any future trip to Japan.

The WI-FI worked great

From the first activation to the time we returned it, the router worked flawlessly. We had four phones connected while we were touring Tokyo and day trip to Yokohama, never had a reception issue. Couple time we had to connect to an external battery as router ran out of juice after 10 hours. This was expected and the startup was within a minute. Used SIM cards in Japan twice before trying this option, far superior to SIM cards.
