The WiFi works from the day you activate it to midnight of the last day. You pick it up, and drop it off at the airport. No setup is needed, you just connect to it. Unlike eSIM's, it doesn't drop in speed after you pass 3 GB in a day. The speed was fast and reliable almost always. The package comes with a powerbank, but we never needed to use it since it lasted the entire day for the two of us. It's more expensive than an eSIM, but cheaper than 2 eSIM's, and you can easily find promo codes on YT. We got our package with a 20% discount, and when we return to Japan, we won't hesitate to pick up the same package again.

This WiFi was incredibly helpful throughout our trip! This is the second time we've used it on a multiweek trip to Japan. It held its charge so so well and made traveling super easy. We were never worried about not having service or being unable to navigate. Will use again for our next trip:)

We looked online and did a bit of research. This one seemed to be the best deal for us. We were planning on a two week holiday and wanted to be able to use our phones without getting huge bills and to use our laptop etc. It is a small lightweight gadget that just works! It never let us down and we travelled from Tokyo - Kyoto - Nara - Fukuoka - Kagoshima - Hiroshima - Osaka and back to Tokyo over 2 weeks, worked the entire time. Switch phone to aeroplane mode (I switched off data too, just to be sure) and they worked all the time and no extra charges. We used both our phones and our laptop with it and had no problems at all. If you are travelling here and thinking of using this - DO IT! Collect at the airport on arrival and drop off in a post box by the check in desk BEFORE YOU GO THROUGH SECURITY and that is it!!
