We used the router for a month in Japan and first time connecting and using it was so easy to do. Just charge it every day for a full battery to use it during the day.

If you're visiting Japan from anywhere, preorder one of these. Easy pickup/drop off at the postal office in Narita. No need to fumble with a local sim card. Turn it on and go - never worry about free wifi in a hotel or restaurant.

Was planning on going without it because i do have basic cell/data service abroad but I'm happy I ended up deciding to get this. Having no data limit was great especially because we used it at hotels whenever WiFi service was poor.

I traveled around Japan for 3 weeks. This modem was perfect. Internet always worked and it was fast. Having unlimited data was also a plus! The battery didn’t last an entire day, but it comes with a powerbank so you don’t end up without internet. I highly recommend!

This is a solid WiFi module that provided service during ~90% of my trip. The only time I didn’t get great service was in the countryside, which is understandable. While the WiFi module itself will barely last an entire day on a full charge, the provided battery pack will help your module last the entire day with ease. Would definitely purchase again!

We rented a Japanese Wireless pocket wifi unit for our 3-week trip within Japan, and would do so again. Easy pick-up at Narita Terminal 2 post office; easy set up and use of device; uninterrupted service; and easy return via return mail envelope (provided). Great service at a good price.
