For the reminder of the trip the connection from the device to the wireless networks was pretty good through the Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka route. I have rented a pocket WiFi for two years in a row from Japan Wireless. It was so helpful to have reliable internet while traveling. I loved the fact that I could pick the pocket WiFi up at the airport and return it via the post office box just outside of security at the airport. I plan on renting from Japan Wireless any time I go to Japan.
